CPIT Student Placements for 2006
Anne-Marie Rose, a tutor on the proposed Certificate in Community Studies will discuss students' needs for practical experience,  Anne-Marie has been co-ordinating and supervising students on the old certificate who have been working as volunteers.  The new certificate will require the students to do 300 hours of voluntary work rather than 170 as they do now.  The voluntary work will be arranged as 'placements' and will be set up and closely monitored by a CPIT staff person.  Students will be expected to do one full day per week from the second term, building up to two days a week from the third term.  This is an opportunity to start planning for next year and to have any questions answered.

Volunteer Co-ordinators' Network
Volunteer Drivers - Sally Blondell from the Land Transport Safety Authority will discuss the legal requirements when a volunteer drives passengers in their own car or another vehicle.  There have been some changes in this area and this meeting gives us a chance to make sure we are all up to date.
